Broccoli Tree is a fun and surprisingly dark example of Tone Mapping a single image from a JPG It became a challenge to turn the regular conceptions of the friendly veggie into something a little darker and bigger than we're used to. The shallow Depth of Field and low Point of View are fantastic in contradicting each other and, I think, results in an image that is fun to look at even though practical uses might be few and far between.

Quality of Light

It may seem at first to be "too dark," but this image obeys many rules of Full Range and Full Scale photography. Simply put, such images translate nicely into rich, black and white pictures. The overall gradient of shade to light is a nice feature, but controlling the Quality of Light can even reveal finger print oils in the stalk which even surprised me.

Broccoli like a dark tree.
Colors have more than 256 Values and this picture shows it though the Internet isn't capable of displaying any more. Some mistake Full Scale for "washed out."
